Issey Miyake was a Japanese fashion designer. He was born on April 22, 1938, and passed away on August 5, 2022.

He was famous for his technologically advanced apparel designs, exhibitions, and fragrances, the most well-known of which was L’eau d’Issey, which went on to become his most successful product.

Born on April 22, 1938, Miyake witnessed the atomic attack in Hiroshima, Japan, in August 1945.
He always aspired to be a dancer when he was a kid. Initially, he was inspired by his sister’s fashion magazines.
Tokyo’s Tama Art University, where he studied graphic design and graduated in 1964, was his final stop before entering the workforce.
As a student at Tokyo’s Bunka Fashion College, he entered his designs in fashion competitions.
However, he was unable to win a competition since he lacked sewing or pattern-making abilities.” At Guy Laroche’s insistence, he began an apprenticeship as an assistant designer after graduation at the Chambre syndicale de la couture parisienne.
He also collaborated with Hubert de Givenchy, creating 50 to 100 sketches every day.

Issey Miyake, a Japanese fashion designer who was known for his signature pleated style of clothing as well as his cult perfumes, passed away on Friday in Tokyo.
During the 1980s, his name became synonymous with avant-garde fashion around the world. He was 84.

On Tuesday, the Miyake Design Studio made the sad announcement of the designer’s passing, citing liver cancer as the reason of death.
