The Billionaire software developer and philanthropist has added his voice to the ongoing feud between the US government and the World Health Organization.

According to him, it is not advisable to cut sponsorship during this period of a pandemic. “Halting funding for the World Health Organization during a world health crisis is as dangerous as it sounds.” he said.

The Microsoft founder who has been very supportive during this outbreak equally added that, “Their work is slowing the spread of COVID-19 and if that work is stopped no other organization can replace them. The world needs @WHO now more than ever.”

His comment follows an earlier announcement made by Donald J Trump, President of the United States that the US who happen to be the largest single funder and actually gave W.H.O more than $400m in 2019.

“I am directing my administration to halt funding while a review is conducted to assess the World Health Organization’s role in severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus,” Trump said in a news conference at the White House.

Donald Trump has since criticized the World Health Organization for being” China-Centric” and covering up the details regarding the spread of COVID-19 in China and the reluctant by the body to alert the world earlier.
