Jaden Smith appears to support his father slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars for insulting his mother Jada Pinkett Smith.
“And That’s How We Do It,” Smith tweeted shortly after the Academy Awards ended on Sunday night.
Although Jaden doesn’t specify whether he was directly talking about the slap or the fact that moments after the altercation his father won the award for Best Actor, many commenters believed it was about the slap.
He then tweeted that his dad’s speech made him cry and added a photo of himself wearing sunglasses.
During the show, Rock made a joke about Jada making “G.I Jane 2” in reference to her shaved head. The actress, who suffers from alopecia, immediately rolled her eyes.
Will then rushed the stage and slapped the comedian, went back to his seat and began screaming for Rock to “Keep my wife’s name out of your f–king mouth.”
Moments after the outburst, Will won Best Actor for playing Richard Williams in “King Richard.”
During his lengthy, tearful speech, he apologized to everyone but Rock — with whom he previously had beef.
“I want to apologize to the Academy, I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees. This is a beautiful moment and I’m not crying for winning an award,” he said. “Art imitates life. I look like the crazy father, just like they said about Richard Williams! But, love will make you do crazy things.”
Page Six exclusively reported that the pair are set to meet after the Oscars to smooth things over.
Will and Jada, who married in 1997, also share daughter Willow, who has yet to comment on the drama.
