The death of Junior Agogo has thrown Ghana as a country in a state of mourning. He didn’t play much like others in the senior National Team but his short presence was filled with memorable moments.

His full name is Junior Manuel Agogo.

His funeral was held on September 20, 2019, in London. His body was cremated.
A private cremation ceremony was held at St. Mark’s Church, 114 Hamilton Terrace, London NW8 9UT.
Junior Agogo Education
He attended the Ridge Church School in Accra, but before completing primary school, he moved with his family to the UK.
He subsequently returned to Ghana for three years, attending St Augustine’s College, a secondary school in Cape Coast.
He didn’t play on the football team at St Augustine’s College, but instead represented the school in dancing competitions

He died on 22nd August, 2019. The very month in which he was born. He was reported to die in a London hospital. He died at the age of 40.
Junior Agogo Teams Played
It all started at Sheffield Wednesday F.C in 1995, where he came through the academy before going on to make a handful of appearances.
Struggling to get in the side, Agogo left for the MLS, where he played for Chicago Fire, Colorado Rapids and San Jose Earthquakes.
A few years later he was back in England, first with QPR, before he moved on to Barnet.
He banged in the goals during the 2002-03 season, which earned him a move to Bristol Rovers where he made over 100 appearances and scored 41 league goals.
In 2006 he joined Nottingham Forest where he scored 20 league goals over a two year period.
That was his final club in England, after which he joined Egyptian side Zamalek and then went to Greece with Apollon Limassol.
His final side was Hibernian, where he spent a season before announcing his retirement in 2012.
After hanging up his boots, Agogo revealed he wanted to open his own restaurant.
However, he instead turned his hand to his own fitness training business.
On his career for the Ghana Blackstars, Junior Agogo will be remembered for his stellar African Cup of Nations performances in 2008, where he helped Ghana to third place.
All in all he scored 12 times for his country in just 27 games.
Junior Agogo Cause of Death
The cause of his death is not yet known. But he was hospitalised in 2014 and 2015 after suffering a stroke – just two years after he retired from football.
Earlier this year, Agogo revealed he was still suffering from the after-effects of his stroke – including limited movement in his right hand.
He spent two months in hospital and later admitted he struggled with his speech – which left him lacking confidence and feeling isolated.
Despite his issues, Agogo was making the most of life before his death.
His posts on social media showed him checking into a hotel, hanging out at a bar and posing for pictures during a break.

Aside football, he has some hand full of hobbies. They include dancing, singing and swimming.

Nothing is known about Agogo’s love affairs too. We can’t tell if he had a child(ren) or a wife/girlfriend. Agogo is said to be related to Former President JJ Rawlings. Rawlings was his Uncle.
