Rodrigo John Blankenship, also known as Hot Rod, is an American football placekicker for the National Football League’s Indianapolis Colts. He was born on January 29, 1997. (NFL). At Georgia, where he played collegiate football, he made the longest field goal in Rose Bowl history. He has drawn a lot of media attention due to the heavy glasses he sports while playing.

Ken and Izabella Blankenship were his parents when he was born in Marietta, Georgia. Through his maternal grandparents, who still reside in Brazil, he is of Brazilian ancestry. At age 10, he started kicking footballs after playing soccer for several years. Attended Sprayberry High School was Blankenship. He took part in the 2014–15 U.S. Army All-American Bowl while still in high school. He was listed as the ninth-best kicker in the nation by 247sports.com.

Blankenship redshirted his first season at Georgia after enrolling there as a preferred walk-on in 2015. Blankenship was given the starting kicker position as a freshman wearing a red-shirt. Blankenship made 26 of 26 extra points and 14 of 18 field goals in the 2016 campaign. He was selected for the All-SEC Freshman team and was the team’s leading scorer.
