“For youngsters that are footballers, Ronaldo would have to be the best in the world,” Boateng told MARCA, back in 2016. “He is the best example to focus on because he trains at his maximum and has talent.
“He works like a crazy person, he’s passionate about what he does and about football. He always wants to be the best, always wants to be first in everything. He would have to be the model for everyone.”
“But what Cristiano does works in this world, and only in this world,” the Ghanian explained.”Outside of this world, the best is Messi. Because he’s incredible.
“He does things that nobody else can do. Because of this, I don’t seem as of this world. Cristiano dominates this world and Messi is ahead of everyone.”
The 31-year-old has joined Barcelona on loan until the end of the current season and the Catalans have an opportunity to make the deal permanent for €8 million in the summer.
“I’m sad to leave Sassuolo but is a great chance,” the Ghanian has said in Barcelona airport a few hours prior to completing his move to Catalunya. “Don’t ask me about Real Madrid… is just the past! I only want to focus on Barcelona and I hope to score at Bernabeu for the next Clasico.”
