His artistic name is derived from his actual name ‘Gregory Promise Bortey Newman”.

He was born on the 16th of August,1995. He is 24 years old.
King Promise Parents
He was born to businessman Francis Newman and Angela Quaye, a trader. He has many occasions stated the inspiration to do music came from his dad who always played classical music at home.
King Promise Education
He started off at the De Kings Academy where he had his basic and junior high education and then proceeded to the Nungua Senior High School. The songwriter stopped schooling after secondary for two years before finishing off at the Central University in 2016.

In 2016 he released his much anticipated single ‘Thank God’ which featured Fuse ODG and produced by Killbeatz . The budding talent considers himself as a versatile artist, who falls in the Afrobeats, HighLife, R&B and Hip-Hop genres. He is gradually building a brand allowing him to have longevity in this industry, in turn, certifying Ghanaians to be conversant with his style of music.
