Authorities say the manhunt for Casey and Vicky White has ended in an Indiana police chase after nearly two weeks on the run. Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton stated that the chase ended in a wreck and that he had no idea why they were in Indiana.
Casey White surrendered to police, according to Singleton, and Vicky White was taken to the hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Indiana authorities.
According to Vanderburgh County Coroner Steven W. Lockyear, Vicky White died on Monday night at 7 p.m. at Evansville Deaconess Midtown Hospital. Her autopsy will be performed on Tuesday.
“Knowing the Vicky that we knew, this is one scenario I expected to happen,” Singleton said in an interview with NewsNation. “I think what disturbed her more than the charges that she was facing returning was the fact that she was returning to face her family and friends.”
“I believe it was as devastating as the charges,” Singleton added.
Casey White will have an emergency status conference on Tuesday, May 10 at 12 p.m. on the third floor of the Lauderdale County Courthouse. Around 5 p.m. Monday, Judge Benjamin Graves approved the hearing.
