On September 29, 1957, English football coach and professional player Leslie Jesse Sealey was born. The star of West Ham United, Alan Sealey, has a nephew named Sealey.
Joe and George Sealey, two football players, were also born to him. Joe was a well-known goalkeeper for West Ham United who was forced to retire at age 21 as a result of injuries.
He was a goalkeeper for Coventry City, West Ham United, Manchester United, and Aston Villa, most notably at the top level.
He additionally played in the Football League for Bury, Blackpool, Leyton Orient, Birmingham City, Luton Town, Plymouth Argyle, and Plymouth.
Sealey was working as West Ham United’s first team goalkeeping coach until he passed away on August 19, 2001. Sealey had been appointed to this position after retiring.

 

At the age of 19, Sealey made his professional debut against Queens Park Rangers on April 11, 1977, in a 1-1 draw. Sealey joined Coventry City as an apprentice in 1976.
He played for the West Midlands squad for the following five seasons before signing for Luton Town in 1983 for $100,000. He played frequently for most of his time at Kenilworth Road, although an injury prevented him from taking part in the team’s 1988 League Cup success. He was replaced by Andy Dibble.
