An office of Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT), has been opened in Accra, the capital city of Ghana.
On the 1st of February 2021, there was a grand opening of the LGBT office in Accra, attended by some notable diplomats including the US Ambassador to Ghana and the Australian High Commissioner.
According to Captain Smart, radio and TV presenter for Angel Broadcasting Network, a sum of $330million was allocated into the establishment of the LGBT in Ghana in November 2021.
However, Mr Moses Foh-Amoani, a legal practitioner and the Executive Director of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights, has called on Government to shut down the new LGBT office in Accra as it is against the laws of Ghana.
“The presidency, the ministry of foreign affairs and the IGP have every right to investigate that office to close it down immediately and arrest and prosecute those people involved in it,” he added.
