The Government of Ghana has announced hotlines that citizens who need some of the free food items can call to have it delivered to them.
This was made known through Madam Cynthia Morrison, the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
This is an initiative by the government to support the livelihood of families who for the lockdown cannot make a living from their daily sales or services anymore.
Also, this initiative is meant to discourage individuals from coming out in search of food since they can’t afford to be indoors and starve to death.
According to Cynthia Morrison, any individual or family that needs some of the free food should call any of these toll-free numbers: 0800800800 and 0800900900.
Ghana’s Coronavirus case count is at 287 with 5 deaths and over 30 recoveries.
