The Supreme Court set down today to commence the hearing of the election petition but the Petitioner (John Dramani Mahama) has not filed any withness statement yet.
According to Lawyer Kow Essuman the Legal Counsel to the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, the Petitioner(John Dramani Mahama) in his petition informed the Court that he had five Withness.
Expecting the filing of the Withness statement, the Petitioner failed in delivering the statement.
In his words, ”The Supreme Court set down TODAY to commence the hearing of the Election Petition but the Petitioner (John Dramani Mahama) has not filed any witness statement even though in his petition he informed the Court that he had 5 witness. Not even one witness statement.
Does this mean that all that his witnesses have to say is dependent on what the EC has to say? Then on what basis did they come to Court? Yet, he has filed frivolous applications that have no basis in law, intended to delay the hearing of the petition.
A complete abuse of the Court’s processes. Today, the Court will hear all these applications and it’s my prayer that the Court comes down heavily on him for completely disregarding the orders of the Court.”
