Fresh figures released by the Ghana Health Service points to the grim fact that more students in the various senior high schools are contracting the deadly Coronavirus after weeks of resumption.

The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, in a press briefing today at the office of Ministry of Information stated that new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Achimota School and Mawuli School in Accra and Ho respectively.

According to him, 18 students of the Achimota School have tested positive and are currently undergoing treatment with 25 students of the Mawuli School in Ho also under the same condition.

He, however, said over 50 students who tested positive at Accra Girls SHS have recovered and are now back to school.

He said to prevent further backlogs, testing will now focus on symptomatic cases, contacts of confirmed cases, exposed health workers, and students.
