Vice President Bawumia has sought to put two major crises that happened during two administrations into perspective and he is asking Ghanaians to judge.

According to Bawumia, who today gave a lecture or better still politically gave replies to Former President Mahama and the NDC believes NPP has been better than NDC.

A video clip shared on Twitter by the Ministry of Information, has Bawumia comparing the power irregularities popularly dubbed “Dumsor” which plagued the administration of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the current pandemic, COVID-19, which the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is having to deal with.

According to the economist, the NPP has been better managers of their crisis by the introduction of mitigating measures to aid Ghanaians to tackle the excesses of the pandemic.

He boasted in the Akufo-Addo-led administration social response reliefs including the free provision of water and electricity to Ghanaians fro three months and other social interventions.

Juxtaposing it with how the NDC managed the Dumsor crisis especially when they did not introduce any social support to cushion Ghanaian businesses and individuals during the dark days of frequent power cuts, Bawumia concluded that the NPP is way better and more concerned about the welfare of Ghanaians.

“If you want to test the robustness of an economy, you test it in a time of crisis. Thankfully, we have had two crises. Under the NDC, there was an internally generated crisis which was Dumsor. Under the president of Nana Akufo-Addo, there’s been an externally generated crisis that is being a Coronavirus pandemic. I just want you to ask yourself, how have these two crises been managed?” Vice President Bawumia compared.
