At the early hours of yesterday morning 11th April 2021, South African entertainment commentator, Kgopolo Mphela updated his followers on Twitter on Nellie Tembe accident.
According to him, the fatal accident occurred in Cape Town.
Making the tweet, he wrote;
“I can confirm that rapper AKA’s fiancée Nellie was involved in a fatal incident in Capetown. The rapper’s management is not at liberty to share any further details and have requested that we give the family time to deal with the shock. I’m told AKA is grief stricken.”
He further gave an update that Nellie’s family and AKA’s management were set to give a statement on the tragic event.

We don’t know if to call what happened an accident. But the facts surrounding her death indicates that she jumped from the 10th floor of the five-star Pepperclub Hotel in central Cape Town.
Now this is not the first time she attempted jumping off a hotel building. She first tried it at Hilton Hotel in Durban but she was saved by police officers who rushed to the scene.
Witnesses at the scene described hearing shouting and a “loud doof” sound, and said they had heard a man calling security and crying — this is according to a report by Dispatch Live.
A source close to AKA said he was “inconsolable”.
“Paramedics on scene have said a female had allegedly jumped from the 10th floor of that building. When paramedics arrived on scene, she had sustained polytraumatic injuries,” Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said.
“She was in a critical condition and they started a full life-support resuscitation. Unfortunately her injuries were too severe and she was declared deceased,” he added.
Pepperclub Hotel general manager Efi Ella also confirmed that a young woman had fallen from one of the upper floors of the hotel at 7.30am on Sunday.
Western Cape SA Police Service media liaison Capt FC van Wyk said crime-scene experts were looking for clues at the hotel.
“Cape Town Central police are investigating an inquest case after an incident at a hotel this morning at about 7.45am on the corners of Loop and Bloem streets, Cape Town CBD, where the body of a 22-year-old woman was found deceased,” the police said in a statement.
Police blocked off the road outside the hotel.
