The NPP led by Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has responded to John Mahama’s statement on elections delivered hours ago.

Rumours went rife that John Mahama called Nana Addo to concede defeat via a phone call.

The NDC presidential candidate minutes after the news went viral aome out to debunk those rumours calling them false.

“Let me thank the media for responding to our call at such short notice and to thank the people of Ghana for what has been an exciting election. I want to state categorically and firmly that I have not congratulated anybody.”, he stated.

In continuation, Mahama said: “And no attempt should be made to steal this election. We will resist it. We thank the Ghanaian people for the confidence they’ve expressed in us. It’s clear the Ghanaian people want a change in this country. Ghanaians are tired of Akufo Addo and his government”.

“We thank the electorates for giving us a working majority in parliament. 140 seats which is a majority and no attempt should be made to subvert that. I’ve looked at the results we collated so far and I’m excited…I’m happy with the results so far. We’ve won in 10 regions out of 16”, he said.

In response, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said Mahama’s claim that he is having the majority in parliament is false.

He added that the leader of the NDC is trying to discredit the whole state organizations in charge of peaceful elections in Ghana.
