Osama bin Laden’s son, Hamza, is dead
Hamza bin Laden, the favorite son of the late al-Qaida leader, Osama bin Laden, is reported dead, according to multiple news outlets citing U.S. officials.
Officials said Hamza bin Laden was killed during the first two years of the Trump administration.
They said he was killed before February 2019 when the State Department announced a $1 million reward for information about his whereabouts before U.S. officials could confirm his death.
Hamza was groomed for eventual leadership of al-Qaida. In March 2018, he issued a statement threatening Saudi Arabia and urging the people of the Arabian Peninsula to revolt.
He had made earlier threats against American, French and Israeli interests dating to 2015.
