Our old leaders wish to allow the young ones to lead the country but they’re not serious – Yul Edochie

When you come to the political landscape in Africa, there’s always the case of old folks leading the country.

Ghana’s President Nana Addo, for instance, is 76 years old and Nigeria’s Buhari is 77 years.

A lot of youth have been agitating that it’s high time the old folks allow the young ones to also lead.

Well, Nigerian actor Yul Edochie has observed that the leaders wish to do this but when they look at the behavior of the present-day youth, it is nothing to write home about.

He opined via a tweet that the average youth is unserious, always insulting each other on social media and selling their souls for money.

He tweeted: “Contrary to what you think, the old guys in power are constantly looking for youths to hand over to.

“But what they see is youths insulting each other on social media, who can’t stand together & fight for anything, youths who’ll sell their souls for money.

“They hardly see Leaders.”

Twitter users didn’t agree with him and they made this known in their replies to him.

One Twitter user replied: ” You lost in the primary you contested to is it not? if what you say is true then you or someone your age should be at govt house in Amawbia right now your own story tells another tale different from what you profess.”

Another wrote: “My brother Yul, I don’t know who you’re trying to please, but this is a very unintelligent submission. Someone of your exposure should know what Nig Youths are doing globally. A generation that couldn’t generate 5000mw of power in 60yrs should not blame the youth for its failure.”
