The parents of the Ghanaian students in China has given the government a 72-hour deadline to bring back their children home.
Daniel Nii Lartey, the spokesperson for the angry parents in a press statement today, said the government’s silence over the matter is serving them a big blow.
“All we need is evacuation, not money. Not the gari and shito the government is sending to the children. The intensity of the whole thing is getting much worse. Ghana is not any different from the other countries who have evacuated their nationals from China.”
He said, “all we’re asking government is to please evacuate our brothers back home… The parents will meet after the 72-hour ultimatum to decide on the next action.”
The government has, however, maintained their stands that it would not evacuate the students back home over fears of transferring the virus into the country.
The students have persistently appealed to government to evacuate them back home as the virus surges in Wuhan and China due to fear they might also contract it.
