Paweł Śpiewak entered politics in 2001 and was elected to the Warsaw City Council, where he served as the head of the Jewish Community Affairs Commission.
He also became a member of the Sejm, the lower house of the Polish parliament, and was appointed as the deputy speaker of the Sejm in 2007. However, he was also a member of Collegium Invisibile.
