The officer who was travelling to Kumasi with his private Toyota RAV 4 with Registration number GR 774 W.
According to mynewsgh.com reports, the inspector was travelling in company with two mechanic before the car caught fire and burnt down at Tetrem Abijan Nkwanta on the Kumasi highway.
Other items in the car that got burnt include handcuff, money personal documents and other valuables.
Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the fire.
