A POLICE WITH INTEGRITY

A police sergeant from MTTD unit of Accra central, Sgt. Ibrahim Yakubu, is a police of integrity that other police must emulate in Ghana.

After observing him, and plying the road where he always direct traffic on, I ask myself if really he also attended the same police school most of his mates, coworkers attended.

Sgt Ibrahim Yakubu always direct traffic at the GIMPA-Christian village junction. He is very punctual. You can meet him as early as 6 O’clock every morning doing his work.

What amaze me about him is the professional way he talk to offenders. He make sure everything is made right. Even if you are at fault, he take his time to talk to you with respect and politeness.

The first time I met this man was when I went out with my brother’s car. The road worthy has expired a day ago. The police at Haatso arrested me and took Ghc 50 from me. When coming back, I decided to use the GIMPA road in order not to meet the police. I was living at Dome Pillar II then. I came across this police man.

He was alone on the road and stopped me. I was afraid so I took another Ghc 50 and squeezed it into his hand but he refused and advised me with his sweet, cool voice to try my best and do it in the week so that he would not be compiled to raise me before the court.

I was afraid he would arrest me for bribing him but he tolerated me and allowed me to go. I ask my brother who was sitting beside me if he is also a Ghana Police. In fact the next day, I went and do all papers.

I carry on watching him, asking other drivers about him and none spoke bad about him.

These are the type of police that the nation needs to have. May God bless him and I will beg the IGP and the other high ranks to promote him.
