A leading member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko is the latest person to join many Ghanaians who are condemning the utterances of Counselor Lutterodt.

“May I suggest that the Police take immediate steps to “invite” Mr Lutterodt (and, please stop using the title Counsellor!) to interrogate him to provide further and better particulars as to how many of his own victims enjoyed being raped, as he so claims?” Gabby wrote on twitter.

The controversial marriage counsellor, has since been under fire after he claimed in a discussion on Adom TV that rape victims enjoy the act and through the experience, some of them still have sexual relationships with those who raped them.

Many Ghanaians have strongly criticized this Lutterodt for this statement which they perceived as one that supports and encourages the act of rape. Some even go to the extent of calling for a total boycott of Lutterodt from all media platforms.

In a statement, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has equally condemned this statement, referring to him as a threat to the general public. The Ministry further called on the Ghana Psychology Council to take actions against him.

The counsellor has however defended his statement in a follow-up interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM. Counsellor Lutterodt opined that, “If you watch the video and listen to the issue carefully, clearly put you can see that the statement is really a sensible statement from a defending educated elite spiritualist,”.
