The Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu has released a document to update Ghanaians on his probe of corruption allegations levelled against former Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Authority, Adjenim Boateng Adjei.

Mr. Adjei was sacked by President Nana Akufo-Addo in October 2020 following recommendations from the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ),

CHRAJ found Mr. Adjei culpable of conflict of interest in the discharge of his duties and said he was unfit to hold any public office.

In a documentary put together by journalist, Manasseh Awuni Azure, Mr. Adjei was accused of establishing a company known as Talent Discovery Limited (TDL), securing government contracts via restrictive tendering and selling those contracts to others for profit.

Well, the Special prosecutor after carrying out his investigations on Mr Adjei’s private bank accounts has come to a realisation that his account balance became ‘fat’ overnight.

When he was appointed as the PPA boss in Jan 2017, he had GHS45,300 in his private bank account but that increased to Fifteen million, six hundred and ninety-one thousand, five hundred fifty-nine and thirty pesewas (GHS 15,691,559.30) in less that 3 years of his appointment.

Mr Adjei’s USD account which was $0.00 has increased to $4,467,055 and his Euro account also went up from EUR0.00 to EUR54,500
