Raymond Allen Liotta was abandoned in an orphanage after being born in Newark, New Jersey. Ray Liotta was adopted by township clerk Mary and auto-parts store owner Alfred Liotta when he was six months old.
In recent years, he had had a rise in fame, starring in films such as (the Sopranos prequel The Many Saints of Newark, in which he played two roles) and Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story.
Liotta was also the voice of Tommy Vercetti, the criminal protagonist in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, which video game fans will recognize.
The actor died in his sleep while filming the next feature (Dangerous Waters) with Saffron Burrows in the Dominican Republic, according to a family acquaintance who confirmed the tragedy.
