Sergeant Mugu Frimpong, an ex-bodyguard of the late former president Jerry John Rawlings revealed that Rawlings was innocent about most of the crimes committed under his reign.
While recounting his work with Rawlings on Asempa FM, the ex-bodyguard made it clear that most of the people who were closer to Rawlings deliberately committed most of the crimes just to tarnish his image.
Being specific, Sergeant Mugu Frimpong made mention of the murder of Samuel Asare who was known by many as “Odiifo Asare”. He said, Rawlings was innocent about the death of this man but he was tagged by many as the murderer of the man of God.
According to Sergeant Mugu, this and many more incidents made Rawlings setup a commission of enquiry in dealing with situations that may result to false accusations.
