A report by MyNewsgh.com indicates that General Overseer of Anointed Palace Chapel, Prophet Asanteman Bofuor, better known as Reverend Obofour has donated GH¢50,000 and 50 bags of rice to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu.

He disclosed that in an interview after the donation it was to support him in his philanthropic gestures as a New Year begins describing the respected Muslim Leader as a Man of Peace. Rev Obofour is known not to be on good terms with Isaac Owusu Bempah.

Reverend Obofour who visited him last Friday at his residence said “Muslims and Christians we are all one. I went to greet him on Friday. He is a man of peace. The year has ended so I had to give him GH¢50,000 and 50 bags to help others. He is a very good man. From there I moved to Kumasi”.

He pledged his unflinching support to him and indicated that he was committed to peace.

The National Chief Imam underscored the need for religious tolerance and used the opportunity to condemn the violence visited on the Odorkor Branch of Glorious Word and Power Ministry belonging to Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah.

It would be recalled that on Wednesday January 2, 2019, Angry Zongo youth in Accra have stormed the church premises and vandalized some property.

The machete-wielding youth numbering about 15 were seen breaking the church billboards at the entrance of the Odorkor Branch and shouting insults at Owusu Bempah in the Hausa language. They vowed to teach him a lesson for “touching their Imam”, brandishing cutlasses as they thronged into the church.

But the Chief Imam asked the youth to forgive him stating that death is inevitable in the life of everyone.

”We are living in peace with fellow Christians and other religion so let’s maintain that relationship. Leave him with his character and forgive him. As for death every soul shall taste it either today or tomorrow so no need to attack the man. Please leave him and forgive him, I am begging you, I am begging you”, he pleaded.
