Robert Helenius, a professional boxer who is Swedish-Finnish, Robert Gabriel Helenius was born on January 2, 1984. Helenius has held a number of heavyweight titles at the regional level, twice winning the European crown between 2011 and 2016. At the 2006 European Championships, Helenius won a silver medal while competing as an amateur. Lamon Brewster, Samuel Peter, and Liakhovich were all defeated by Helenius in noteworthy victories against heavyweight boxing opponents.

Helenius won the bronze medal in 2000 in the European “cadets” (U 17) championships in Patras. He lost to the hard-hitting Croatian Mario Preskar at the Junior European Championships in Sarajevo, where he earned a second bronze. Helenius was defeated by eventual gold medalist Janne Katajisto in the opening round of the super heavyweight class of the Finnish Amateur Boxing Championships. The final that year saw Katajisto overcome Helenius.
