From 1980 through 1988, he was most known for portraying helicopter pilot Theodore “T.C.” Calvin on the CBS series Magnum, P.I. Between 1980 and 1988, Mosley was a professional wrestler. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) licensed Mosley as a private helicopter pilot. During the Magnum P.I. shoot, he was prohibited from performing any of his own stunts.

 

To disguise the pilot’s appearance, they used a body stocking with synthetic muscles attached.

In 2013, the HAI Heli-Expo in Las Vegas acknowledged this MD 500D aircraft that had been repaired. The helicopter’s nose was autographed by both Mosley and co-star Larry Manetti.

“Roger E. Mosley, my father, your friend, your “coach Mosley,” and your “TC” from Magnum, P.I., died at 1:17 a.m.,” his daughter wrote on Facebook. He died peacefully.

The reason for death wasn’t given. A letter written by his daughter says that because of a recent car accident, Mosley is paralyzed from the shoulders down and in very bad shape.

When he died, he was 83 years old.
