Rush in Live performance L-R: Alex Lifeson, Geddy Lee, Neil Peart
TORONTO (CelebrityAccess) – Former Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson has penned a musical tribute to his late pal and bandmate Neil Peart. The musician says “Western Sunsets” got here collectively after spending time with Peart on the drummer’s residence shortly earlier than he died of mind most cancers in January 2020.
The instrumental piece options an acoustic-electric guitar and lasts roughly 2 1/2 minutes. “Western Sunsets” closes the self-titled debut of Envy of None, a brand new band that includes Lifeson. The album is about for launch on April 8.
The Canadian Press experiences Lifeson as saying: “It’s a ravishing music that captures a second that was tough. Each time I hear it, I keep in mind these issues. So it’s very private to me.”
Rush was a Canadian rock band fashioned in 1968 by Lifeson, John Rutsey, and Jeff Jones. Peart joined the band in 1974, changing Rutsey 4 months after their self-titled debut album.
