Littlefeather was born to a Native American father and a European American mother (Apache and Yaqui).
Brando has backed a number of causes, including as the Native American movements and the fight for civil rights.
The Stanislavski system of acting and method acting, which developed from the Stanislavski system, were introduced to general audiences by him as one of the first actors.
In the 1940s, he attended classes with Stella Adler.
