Ghanaian music producer, Nshona Muzik, who’s credited to be the very first producer to create and record an Azonto beat and song has finally spoken on the first Ghanaian musician to record an Azonto song.

The issue became a debate on the internet space with Gasmilla saying that he was the originator of the Azonto music genre while other schools of thought also has it that it was Sarkodie who came out first with an Azonto tune.

Well, Nshona Muzik has finally come out to speak on this on Okay FM.

During the interview, the music producer said Azonto was a popular dance in Senior High School way back in 2009-2010.

So when the dance kept rising and spreading like wildfire, Sarkodie mentioned the term ‘Azonto’ in connection to a female to a beat that he (Nshona Muzik) produced in 2010.

And the song in which Sarkodie mentioned the Azonto connected to the dance, hence instead of calling the song Nshona Muzik, they gave it the name Azonto music and that birthed the popular music genre.

“Sarkodie is the first Azonto flagbearer from 2010”, Nshona Muzik said as a matter-of-factly.
