Shaheer Sheikh is an Indian actor and model who works mainly in the Indian television industry. He is best known for portraying the role of ‘Arjuna’ in Star Plus’s 2013 TV series ‘Mahabharata’. Sheikh enjoys a huge fan base globally, especially in Indonesia. He has worked in several Indonesian television series and a few feature films.

Shaheer is all set to make his web series debut with Annu Kapoor, Shilpa Shinde, Milind Soman, and Flora Saini. The web series will tentatively be titled ‘Paurashpur’.

Born on 26 March 1984, Shaheer Sheikh’s age is 36 Years as of 2020. He was born and brought up in a well-settled and educated family in Bhaderwah, Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, India.
He completed his early education at Hari Singh Higher Secondary school, Jammu. Subsequently, he went on to pursue graduation in Bachelor’s of Law from New Law College, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune.
After completing his graduation in law, Shaheer Sheikh decided not to pursue it any further and instead dabbled into photography. Later on, he became a model. After a successful stint in modeling, he came into acting and has successfully created a place for himself in the Indian and Indonesian television and film industry. Currently, Sheikh owns an event management company as well.
Family, Girlfriend & Relationships

Shaheer Sheikh belongs to a well-to-do Muslim family from Bhaderwah, Jammu and Kashmir, India. He is an Indian by nationality and follows Islam. He has often said that he believes in God but is not particularly spiritual.
His father’s name is Shahnawaz Sheikh and his mother’s name is Dilshad Sheikh.
He has two sisters, Aleefa and Ifrah Sheikh.
Shaheer Sheikh’s relationship status is married. He got married to his long time girlfriend, Ruchikaa Kapoor on 27 November 2020. The couple met on sets of the movie ‘Judgmental hai kya’ and were in a relationship for two years henceforth before getting married in a court ceremony.
His wife Ruchikaa Kapoor is also the head of the film division of Balaji Telefilms.
He was strongly rumored to be dating his ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi’ co-star Erica Fernandez but the two never opened up about their relationship to the public or media.
Sheikh was also rumored to be dating an Indonesian singer Ayu Ting Ting and he even apologized to her on a stage show for breaking her heart.

Career

In 2009 Shaheer Sheikh made his debut in the television industry with a teen sitcom television series titled ‘Kya mast hai life’. The show was aired in the Disney channel and also starred Shweta Tripathi and Sana Amin Sheikh in key roles. Besides ‘Kya Mast Hai Life’, he also appeared in another Disney show titled ‘Best of Luck Nikki’ starring Sheena Bajaj and Gurdeep Punj in pivotal roles.
He played the role of Rani Jhansi’s younger brother ‘Nana Sahib’ in television series ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’ (2009) in which Kratika Sengar played the lead character.
In 2011, Shaheer played the lead role in a drama series titled ‘Navya..Naye dhadkan naye sawal’ opposite Soumya Seth. The show was directed by Vivek Bahl. In 2012, he was paired opposite ‘Mahhi Vij’ in a star plus show titled ‘Teri meri love stories’.
His breakthrough success came when he played the role of Arjuna in the Star Plus Mythological show ‘Mahabharata’. This was a career defining role for Shaheer Sheikh as it earned him international acclaim.
The show demanded him to undergo professional fitness training, weapon training etc. for almost eight months.
Mahabharata became a huge hit in Indonesia and he did a few acting assignments over there as well. The success of Mahabharata made him really popular across the globe.
He hosted an Indonasian reality TV show ‘Panah Asmara Arjuna’ and another show called ‘The new eat Bulaga! Indonesia’.
In 2015 Shaheer co-hosted ‘Asia’s Got Talent’ along with Marc Nelson. In the same year he also went on to star in an Indonesian romantic comedy called ‘Turis Romantis’. He was paired with Kirana Larasati.
His career graph took an upward turn subsequently. In 2016, he made a comeback on Indian television. He played the popular role of ‘Dev Dixit’ in a Sony TV show titled ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise bhi’. He was paired with Erica Fernandez and their chemistry was totally off the charts.
Along with his Indian television assignments, he kept on making appearances on various Indonesian shows as well.
In 2017 he played the titular role of ‘Datu Museng’ in a Indonesian feature film called Maipa and Datu Museng.
In 2018, he reprised the role of Salim in Colour Tv’s show called ‘Dastaan-E-Mohabbat : Salim Anarkali’. In the show he was paired with Sonarika Bhadoria. The show wasn’t very fondly received by the audience and had to ultimately go off air.
Owing to his massive popularity in Indonesia, Shaheer Sheikh, was chosen by the Indonesian government to be the torchbearer of the ’18th Asian Games’.
From March 2019- October 2020, he played the role of Abir Rajvansh in a show called ‘Yeh Rishtey hain pyaar ke’. He was paired with Rhea Sharma on the show and the drama series was a spin-off of another popular show called ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata hai’.
He is all set to make his web series debut along with Annu Kapoor, Milind Soman, Shilpa Shinde, and Flora Saini. The web series will be titled ‘Paurashpur’
Controversy

It is believed that the reason behind Shaheer Sheikh’s break up with Ayu Ting Ting was his closeness to his co-actor Erica Fernandez. Though no confirmed statement has been recorded from anybody.
