He regularly visited his mother who stayed in Rabie Ridge. His friends named him Eagle when he was in high school.

He began rapping at a very young age and recorded his first single at the age of 13.
After completing high school, Shane entered the Vuzu rap competition dubbed “The Hustle”.
Among the judges were influential South African rappers AKA, Tumi and motswako rapper Khuli Chana.
Shane had a rough start in the competition, but he eventually went home with the prize of the second runner up.
He released his debut single titled Way Up which featured the BigStar Johnson on the 8th of October, 2015. The single was a huge success as it opened up Shane to the world.
He released her debut album, Yellow on the 31st of August 2017. The album reached over a million streams on Apple Music. The single “Let It Flow” was certified gold in South Africa in September of 2019.

The single “Let It flow” was also nominated for the Best Music Video and Shane was also nominated for the Newcomer of the Year Award.
