The Black Stars World Cup and African Cup ambitions will not come cheap as the Minister in charge of sports Mustapha Ussif announces budgets for the respective campaigns.

In a presidential breakfast meeting with chief Executive officers from corporate Ghana and state institutions the the Jubilee house today Monday 26th April, Mr. Mustapha mentioned that it will cost the Senior men national team $25 Million for their world cup qualifiers and participation in the African cup of nation tournament.

“It is the dream of the nation to win the Africa Cup of Nations again in Cameroon next year, and to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup,” the Sports Minister said during the meeting

The meeting was purposely held to deliberate on raising funds for the Black stars ahead of the two competitions in a way to ease the alarming financial burden the ministry and Government.

“These campaigns require a substantial amount of investment to be able to execute this mandate, approximately $25 million and government alone cannot shoulder this responsibility at the expense of other sporting disciplines.” Ussif added.

Meanwhile President Akufo-Addo pledge during the meeting Government will provide $10m of the money while a 5 member team is formed raise the remaining $15m.
