Taylor Townsend, an American tennis player, was born on April 16, 1996. In July 2018, she attained her highest-ever WTA ranking of No. 61. After Kim Kessaris in 1989, Townsend won the Australian Open junior competition in 2012 at the age of 15, becoming just the second American to do so. She also won the doubles title at the same competition, making her the first American since Lindsay Davenport at the 1992 US Open to win both the singles and doubles titles at a junior Grand Slam event. Townsend gained the top spot in the ITF junior rankings before the end of April a few months later when she won the Easter Bowl.

Professional WTA Taylor Townsend is working on a comeback. Taylor is back with a new “secret weapon” and the same drive, tenacity, and love for the game that she always has. She named John Williams as his new coach.
Williams, a performance specialist, has been in charge of Townsend’s rehabilitation and dietary needs in addition to addressing and equipping her with highly particular training components. Williams will now add dissecting Townsends’ game and putting strategies in place to consistently enhance it to his list of highly valuable services. Williams has over 21 years of experience working with players from different sports, and she has been a key player in improving their performance.
