A bizarre story is reported of a 16-year-old girl who has been arrested and arraigned before court for allegedly killing a 51-year-old man who tried to rape her.
The girl who is a Senior High School student in Nigeria was accused of stabbing a certain Babatunde Ishola on March 7, 2020, at Nwadolu Street, Aboru in Alimosho area of the state.
In a statement read before the court, the girl narrated how she, unfortunately, terminated the life of the man.
“In her statement, the suspect said the deceased person, who is her father’s friend, invited her to his house to assist him in fetching water, as he lives alone. She said she has always been helping him with the house chores but that while she was helping out with the water on Saturday, he attempted raping her. Then she picked a knife from the room and stabbed.
Many young girls have been at the mercy of men who usually take advantage of them by raping or defiling them.
Although her termination of the man’s life is condemnable, it is an undeniable fact that she was protecting her safe from harm.
