The GFA has disclosed that the cancelled season has cost Ghana FA over $2.2 million.
The Ghana Football Association has lost a whopping $2.2 million of money following the cancellation of the 2019/20 football season.
The communications director of the football governing body, Henry Asante Twum disclosed.
He said on Angel FM in Accra:
“MTN made 1.1 million Ghana Cedis investment in the FA Cup so far. 800,000 cedis in cash and 300,000 cedis in products. StarTimes would have invested a little in excess of one million Ghana cedis of which they have paid some.”
“The projections from NASCO for their products is estimated at $1.1,”
“The football association spent at least Gh¢6,000 on every match day. This money went into paying referees, cameramen and Venue Media Officers.”
The date for the 2020/21 football season will be announced by the Ghana Football Association in the coming weeks.
During the same interview, he announced that Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in CAF Champions League while Ashantigold plays in CAF Confederations Cup.
