Thieves in Uganda managed to make history by stealing a television set from Jinja Police station on Monday.

The 40-inch television, which was awarded to the police officers by Startimes in December, was plucked off the wall adjacent to the reception.

Police officers posted in that station have no idea who took their new television set. Reports indicate that they have tried to keep the story under wraps but one detective anonymously confirmed the incident.

Later, Kiira Police Spokesperson, Diana Nandaula, confirmed the robbery.

It is true our television has been stolen and we have tasked the officers who were on duty to explain how that happened.

Police are now carrying out investigations on how the television set could have been stolen right under their own noses.
