Legal practioner Tony Lithur has filed for divorce against his wife of many years and former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection under the John Mahama administration, Madam Nana Oye Lithur.

Mr Lithur also represented Mr John Mahama in the historic 2012 election petition hearing at the Supreme Court.

MyNewsGH.com is unable to make public the full documents in our possession stating the marital ‘crimes’ of Nana Oye Lithur, based on which her husband, Mr Lithur is seeking divorce, as it is too messy and will be deemed embarrassing to one or both parties when published.

We only reproduce one section of the document.

The court paper served on Nana Oye Lithur thus reads:

“TAKE NOTICE:

That you are required within 8 days after service hereof upon you.
Inclusive of the day service to enter on appearance either in person or by solicitor at the Divorce Registry of the High Court, Accra in the Greater Accra Region of the Republic of Ghana should you think fit to do so and thereafter to answer this petition and that in default of your so doing, the Court will proceed to hear the petition and pronounce judgement your absence notwithstanding.”

Nana Oye Lithur, wife of Mr Tony Lithur is a Ghanaian barrister and politician. She was the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protectio, having been appointed in 2013 by President John Mahama after the Ghanaian general election. She is a member of the National Democratic Congress.
