1. Sonnie Badu

Dr Sonnie Badu is the leading Gospel artist in Africa. His presence in the genre made a good name for Africa and proved that we’ve got a firm grip when it comes to worshipping and praising God lyrically.

3. Sinach

Osinachi Joseph (née Kalu), known professionally as Sinach, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and senior worship leader at Loveworld.

She gave hope to the females when it comes to headlining gospel shows across Africa and the world at large. She became known globally with songs like; Awesome God – 2008, The Presence of The Lord – 2008, Fire In Me – 2008, Because You Live – 2008, etc.

Since the start of her career, she has released over 11 albums with her last one being in the year 2019. Notable among her albums are; Chapter One – 2008, I’m Blessed – 2011, Shout it Loud – 2012, From Glory to Glory – 2013

4. Benjamin Dube

Reverend Benjamin Dube is a music ministerial visionary, anointed songwriter and singer, music producer, mentor/father and pastor to many musicians and an inspiration to secular artists in South Africa.

He is regarded as a Gospel legend of Africa. He began the journey of his calling in ministry in 1986 when he recorded a single – HOLY SPIRIT which was a cross-over hit song and chartbuster on local radio stations and sold over 25 000 units in the year of its release in RSA.

His songs have sold Platinum and Gold thereby indicating how solid a brand he is.

He has the following awards to his credit; Best Male Artist – Crown Gospel Music Award (20019), Best Praise and Worship Album (MTN-SAMA awards) – 2007 Crown Gospel Music award for Best Praise and Worship Artist 2008, etc.

5. Joe Mettle

Joseph Oscar Nii Armah Mettle better known by his stage name Joe Mettle is an award-winning Ghanaian gospel singer and songwriter.

He is the first Gospel musician to win the Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA) – 2017 Artiste of the year in Ghana.

Joe has also won over 10 local and international awards. He has won several awards at Africa Gospel Music Awards, Gospel industry Awards, African Gospel Awards (UK), CCML Ghana Gospel Awards, Bass Awards and RIGA Awards (South Africa).

He has many worldwide hit songs including “Nhyira”, “Medo Wo”, “Akokyem Nyame”, “Mensuro”, “Turning Around” and “Yesu Adi Nkunim” to his credit.

At the moment, Joe Mettle has been tipped to be the next big thing the world gospel in a few months to come.
