A top NDC member, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, Esq. MP. has suggested that the Ho Airport should be named after late former president, Jerry John Rawlings.
In a tweet, he brought the suggestion up for his followers to discuss it.
He tweeted: “Let’s name the Ho Airport after JJ Rawlings. What do you say?”
Ho Airport is an airport being built to serve Ho, Ghana. Construction began in September 2015 and the expected cost is US$25 million.
Ultimately, the airport covers 1,500 acres, with a passenger terminal and a 1,900-metre runway. Completion was estimated for sometime before the end of 2017.
As it stands, the airport was near completion as its construction started under the Mahama government.
But after NPP’s Nana Addo took over, the airport which was near completion has been left idle.
