Tory Lanez has helped 100 Black former inmates celebrate Father’s Day this year.

He took to Instagram to share details about the new initiative and his plans to continue to support Black men get back into society after their sentences end.

According to TMZ, the “Jerry Sprunger” emcee’s Dream City Fund launched “100 Black Fathers” with Cut50 and Van Jones. The initiative also partnered with Amazon Music, Door Dash and Dream Corps to provide free meals and gifts to the fathers and their families. These men were recently released from prison during the pandemic.

Lanez also penned an open letter to the Black fathers. “Congratulations. You’re home, you’re with your family,” he wrote. “You deserve to enjoy today! I’m grateful to be a very small part of it. I know as a Black father raising Black children in this world, things aren’t easy. We live in a country that has a broken system. You’re finally free to be with your loved ones, but I know that in many ways you still feel like you are NOT FREE.” Lanez continued his letter by writing about using his platform to help others. “I’m a Canadian,” he wrote.

“I can’t vote here, but I’m doing the best I can with my platform to make an impact. I have a record, I am not perfect, but I can contribute to the lives of the people around me, most importantly by being a father to my son.”
