Travelers who have been quarantined to prevent the spread of Coronavirus have blasted the government as they almost clashed with authorities in charge of their securities.
Days ago, a few travelers who landed in Ghana were quarantined to check whether they are potential carriers of the coronavirus or otherwise.
It seems they aren’t happy with the government’s move.
A video sighted by a member of our team had a few of them exchanging words with authorities in charge of their securities.
They were furious over the way and manner at which they are being handled.
Some when asked to move from the porch of the building they are being kept in to their various rooms stated that they are not criminals.
According to them, they are being kept against their will.
Some stated that they are not infested with the virus hence they should be freed to go to their variuos houses.
Some Ghanaians shared their thoughts on the video as captured below:
‘You people, who said it’s two days for you to get it? The full maturity stage of the virus is 14 days. You are in quarantine to save yourself, your family and the nation. I wonder why people don’t get this.’
‘Ignorance is a disease… Stay inside your hotel rooms to protect yourselves and others. I think Ghana army should be called.’
‘They should even chain them and seize their phones. Didn’t they heard the news before taking the risk??. TG you’re in good hotel and you won’t keep mute. me anka would have sent Dem to some kolo hotel in tamale😝😝 to learn Sense…’
‘They should shut up over there!!! They brought the virus to the country…. Sias3m. Just quarantining themselves to save themselves and others too, they don’t understand!’
‘Ei black man, why won’t they insult us, simple understanding you will argue. Saving your family and the Nation and the world at large. O daabi da’
‘See them acting in concert. They are not even practicising social distancing. They have he luxury to spew trash as if wherever they’re coming from was a cool place. I don’t even understand why the government hosted them in such luxurious hostels at the expense of the Ghanaian taxpayer’s money when some of these people may have never filed heir tax returns in Ghana. Would have the gut to spew out those insensitive remarks if they’d been kept in tents and pavilions? Ignorance and arrogance at its speak. In times like this all we need is cooperation and solidarity. Are they better than the others who are cooperating for their own good?’
