“To be, or not to be, that is the question: Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them. To die: to sleep, No more, and by a sleep to say we end The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks. That flesh is heir to’ tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish’d. To die, to sleep”

Fo Win, as we affectionately called you before you ascended the throne of our fathers and became Togbe Golo III, you didn’t accept to be called “Win” just for the sake of it, but through your life here on earth, you exhibited the winning spirit in all your endeavours. You had a listening ear and a heart willing to help whenever we did call on you in difficult and joyous moments. Togbe, your principled life made it easy for kingmakers to pick you as a candidate amongst other capable siblings to ascend the throne as Tufia of the Shia Traditional Area. Your simple life style and penchant for truth made your reign look so simple, despite being the ‘war lord’ of a very powerful town within Nordu.

Shakespeare was right in saying “all the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players; they have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages”.

Togbe, you played many roles in our lives and we will be forever grateful. One particular role we will cherish forever is the fatherly role you played in the lives of our children during marriage ceremonies here in Shia and in any part of Ghana you were required to be present. Your presence at such ceremonies made our children and ourselves very proud when you were introduced as Tufia of Shia. This singular announcement put the fear of God into our prospective in-laws.

We never knew you to be someone who frequented hospitals: it therefore came to us as a surprise when you were admitted and discharged on about three different occasions within a short period of time. We believed in our hearts and prayed on our knees that the good Lord take you through the ailment so that you return to us in good health. But as it is said, “there is no armour against faith”, you peacefully joined our ancestors on 23rd November, 2017.

We are still in a state of denial, but working hard to give you a befitting burial. It is our wish that these wonderful people from all walks of life gathered here today will represent you and continue to stay with us s after your burial, although this also is not 3 possible. We love you but God loves you best. t May God fill the vacuum created in the family as a result of the demise of Fo Win.

Aoo, Togbe! mia foh kple miator. Amekagbor negblemi de?

r Hedenyuielo!

Na dzudzor le nutifafa me. Amen.

Blessed is the man that trusted in the Lord and whose hope the Lord is Jeremiah 7:17

To our dear sister, so caring, loving, and true our heart aches knowing that we won’t ever see you again

We miss being able to call you anytime and spent several hours talking on issues. As children, we were very fond of you and you loved us so much. We grew up and apart but your love for us is great. You were never afraid to speak your mind and you will always say ” I am not afraid of anyone I am a child of a Soldier” We laughed during the good times and cried during the bad times. You were practically our mother. Our formative years with you was worth it you touched the lives of all of us including our children

The bond amongst us kept us very strong. You always gave us a listening ear and you proved you really care.

We still cannot understand why you left us without words of farewell.

You will forever remain a loving and kind hearted at sister in our heart. You have fought a good fight and have finished your race and you have remained faithfull.

Rest in peace till we meet again Hede nyuie, dzudzor le nutifafa me.
