That’s the central theme of 1Magic’s Single season 3, which makes a return on 8 April with a brand new solid, new storyline and new issues for its characters to deal with.

Whereas the primary two seasons handled girls of their mid-to-late 30s navigating motherhood, romance and careers, season 3 follows three mates of their 20s attempting to outlive the concrete jungle and all its predators.

This season explores what it means to be single in your 20s in South Africa, from sexual liberation and the liberty to decide on who you need to be with, to relationship statuses that vary from ‘simply vibing’ to polyamory. It’s a troublesome courting panorama, particularly when relationships are put beneath social media scrutiny.

In season 3, we meet social media darling Enzo (performed by The Queen and Rockville’s Khanya Mkangisa), proud troll Rea (performed by the SAFTA-nominated Mapula Mafole) and Confidence (performed by Isibaya’s Florence Mokgatsi), who’s the center of the threesome’s typically rocky friendship.
Different solid members this season embody Kabelo Moalusi (The Throne, The Queen), rapper Jesse Suntele (The Queen, The Hustle) and Lulu Hela (The River, Is’thunzi).

“As a channel we’re proud to offer our viewers tales that see their actuality mirrored on display. With the brand new season of Single, we signify and mirror the lives of younger girls in SA and what hustling means to them. Constructing on the Single model but bringing in a brand new solid, characters and storyline in every season is a daring and forward-thinking transfer as this builds model affinity and longevity with our viewers,” says Shirley Adonisi, Director of Native Leisure Channels at M-Internet.

Relationship within the millennial and Gen-Z pool is a dog-eat-dog world, and nobody is aware of that higher than the ladies of Single season 3. Tune in for the drama, coronary heart and humour on 1Magic (DStv Channel 103), Fridays at 21h30 beginning on 8 April. The sequence is produced by Ferguson Movies.
