Unwanted pregnancy and abortion amongst the youth will go high after this lockdown due to lack of access to contraceptives and boredom

You know something, sex in itself is not a bad thing. God created sex for human pleasure and procreation.

However, as the youth of today are eager to make out with their partners or sometimes one another, they are afraid to get pregnant.

Early or unwanted pregnancy is the dreadful experience and youth want to go especially when they known they never wanted it at that time.

A girl who has missed her period and later realizing that she may be pregnant because she had sex that month, appears more depressing than anything.

On the back of that, every youth is extremely vigilant not to get pregnant after some pleasurable encounters hence resort to the use of contraceptives regularly.

Schools and educational outlets have taught the youth to avoid unwanted pregnancies and abortions but sticking religiously to the use of condoms, pills or other medications to keep pregnancy at bay.

But the narrative will be different after this Coronavirus-influenced lockdown is over.

They are usually two things that influence sexual activities among the youth: drugs and boredom. Here, drugs are used advisedly because not everyone does that.

But were all know the influence an alcoholic beverage or smoking has on your choices is huge and what boredom does to you is for you to look for activities that will ease you from it.

A study shows that porn sites have seen the craziest of traffic on their sites ever. Why are people there? Your guess is as good as mine.

Sadly, the lockdown is not allowing the youth to go out there to explore. When the youth are busy in schools, at churches or engaging in productive activities, they do not think of sex…not at the current rate.

The lockdown has now led them to be in their closet and out of boredom visit or invite their boyfriends which eventually ends in sex.

The devil finds a job for idle hands and especially when you find nothing interesting to do. The youth can notion any way be blamed for this because even without the lockdown, unwanted pregnancy and abortion was still an occurrence.

But, it will surely see an abnormal increment judging form how rampant sexual activities are ongoing, the lack of contraceptives and the inability to go out there and do something worthwhile.

We may fight Coronavirus later or sooner, but governments all over the world and especially in Africa must get ready to provide and render support to the numerous girls who will drop out of school d because the consequences of their actions are right in their face.

And the youth, this is my advice to you, sacrifice today’s pleasures, gratification, and selfishness for tomorrow’s joy and fulfillment. You will have sex and enjoy it today but you can’t run away from the consequences.

Do not allow a lockdown to be the reason why you will put your bright future also under an everlasting LOCKDOWN.

The choice is yours to make.
