A video making rounds on Twitter is pointing to the fact that Grammy Award nominee, Burna Boy stole and sampled Fela Kuti’s songs.
Fela Kuti was a pioneer of the Afrobeat music genre and Burna Boy has always said that he looks up to him.
Just that we didn’t know to look up to him meant stealing his songs.
In the video, Burna Boy simply copied the exact wordings, beat and rhythm of most of Fela’s songs.
A lot of Twitter users are beginning to ask if Burna Boy is indeed talented and creative as we perceive him to be.
Daniel Marven shared the trending video on Twitter and wrote: “All this time Burna Boy has been stealing music from Fela Kuti”.
