The Deportivo Alaves player revealed on Citi TV that he can’t retire from football without winning a trophy for his nation.
“I can’t complete my time with the Black Stars without winning something. I need to win something before I stop.“ – He said.
The passionate player explained the current team has to win something for the nation to serve as an example for others to follow.
“To be honest there are young ones coming up and we have to make way for them to also continue but we must set an example for them to come and continue. ”
Wakaso was part of the maiden Black Stars team who dropped at the round of 16 at just ended Afcon 2019.
He wept bitterly after they dropped mainly because he played his heart out.
