NDC flagbearer and Former President Mahama has subtly chastised the Akufo-Addo-led administration of fostering nepotism and favouritism in his government.
According to Mahama, the way politics is practised in Ghana will see a drastic change from the vilification of opponents to the embracing of Ghanaians without prejudice or malignment.
In a tweet, the former president said the new face of politics as far as he is concerned will not treat others are less of Ghanaians than the others.
He wrote: We will change the face of our politics. No one will be considered less Ghanaian or more Ghanaian than the other on the basis of ownership of a political party card.
President Akufo-Addo has been criticised as promoting nepotism and favouritism in his government especially with the appointment of close relatives and friends which constituents a large chunk of his government’s size.
The opposition party has described the current administration as ‘Akyem Mafias” where they believe the government has focused his attention on people who belong to his clan and treats them as more Ghanaians than people from other tribes and clans.
John Mahama is seeking to unseat Nana Akufo-Addo in the December polls with the conviction that Ghanaians have seen better leadership under his tenure than his successor. Akufo-Addo also believes he has done better than the previous government and Ghanaians will reward him with another four years.
As the battle day draws closer, the political gymnastics will get tougher and scarier.
